FIRE !!!! - narritive on may the second Mildura was hit by a big evil bushfire. There were many families helping to put the fire out. Some people left while they weren’t hit yet. Mildura is in Victoria which there was many towns that were hit that bad summer. Host: “you should always have a bushfire plan so now we are going to talk to the madden family and what there plan was also what it looked liked and felt.” Laura- “well our bush fire plan was to get the hose and start putting the fire out.” “also it was good that we have ten hoses around the whole house.” Haylie- “I got buckets of water and started putting the fire out that was on the furniture, also I went around putting wet cloths in gaps like under the door.” Laura- “also I went around and turned on all the sprinklers on which were planted in the ground.” Haylie- “ well if it got so bad we would get the wheelie bin which has stuff in it we want to keep and we would try to get out but we dint need to cause we had saved our house but it is still going at other peoples houses.” Host- “so that was the madden family that told us that.” “Now where going to ask the parents of the family to tell us what they saw and felt.” Mr maddenn “well it was so dark and it was so scary.” Mrs madden- “all we could see was orange and black I was so lucky I dint get brunt but one of my family. Friends did.” Host- “now we are going to look at another family to tell us their story, which is the comet family.” Mel- “well my sister and I were home by our self’s but we knew what to do so we got straight into it.” Tayla- “so first we rang 000 for the fire people then we rang mum and dad to say that their was a bushfire.” Mel- “so after that we turned the sprinklers on which were on the roof and ground, then one of us went and filled the bath and the other one was getting buckets of water and pouring it every where, at least we saved our house but it was just keep on coming then it started to raining it was a miracle.” Tayla- “all we really saw was black smoke and it was so scary like being alone also just feeling the frighting orange and yellow burning flames it was so bad.” Host- “many families did fight the fire but they wouldn’t of did with out a fire plan so have one.” Host-“so that was both of the families telling a frighting adventure.” “so you know how they saved there houses but well who saved the bushes life no one the rain did because out of no where it had started to rain and it saved half of the bush.” Host- “lots and lots of wild life animals were found dead so now we are going to give out small bits of information about bushfires and how you could save your house.” Each year there has been thousands of bushfires but may the 2nd has been the worst of all for Victoria. Also if you don’t want to have a box or something to put stuff you want to keep safe and leave straight away. Every fire plan should include: sprinkler on roof and ground, lots of hoses, buckets of water, cloths under gaps also call 000 and many more but they are the main simple ones to have. Also install more hoses and don’t forget to install sprinklers on the roof cause it will help a lot. Always remember to have a fire plan and to stick to it. And always be prepared ! JJJ By hope
